Sometimes all we need is a change of scene, change of pace, and a good old fashioned girls’ weekend away.
Carrying the mental load for a family, for your part-time job and for your business alone is exhausting, right?
Sometimes all we need is a change of scene, change of pace, and a good old fashioned girls’ weekend away.
Do you struggle with doing anything for, or spending money on, yourself?
Squash the inner critic by spending a weekend learning and growing your business and creative skills while having a fun weekend with a bunch of girls.

Does the admin side do you head in? Do you struggle for content ideas? Would you love some headshots but can’t afford to book a solo photoshoot?
I’ve got you covered with not just my expertise but some expert friends.

Most of the celebrant organizations do a retreat, as do some of our industry’s premier coaches, but they're usually a week long and that's a big commitment if you have a family to look after. A ton of them are going to Bali right now, but that's out of my budget and, if I'm honest, my desire.
Some annual conferences are packed with valuable workshops, except you have to organize your own accommodation in whatever capital city they're being held.

This retreat involves rocking up and leaving your responsibilities at home, just for a couple of nights. That's do-able.

You spoke and I listened. There will be headshots.
The last time I had headshots done is cost as much as this whole retreat and I didn’t even like them very much.
As a bonus, on the final day Alyssa from @Alyssawashingtonweddings will also be there for several hours’ content creation. This, of course, is only available to those on the residential retreat but the other thing I heard was that many were hoping for a day retreat. Saturday workshops will be open to those that can't do a whole weekend.
Join like-minded colleagues, to relax, eat, learn, eat, share funny stories, eat and generally inspire each other to greatness.
Ok Sally, but why?
A NEW PERSPECTIVE
Gain a new perspective on, not only how you create your ceremonies, but how you handle the boring back-end that keeps the engine running
HEADSPACE!
Time to plan and work (or just read a bloody book!) without anyone asking you to make them a sandwich or why the sky is blue. Let me play mother.
NEW FRIENDS
Spending a couple of days in a small group like this will forge friendships, that I can promise because it happens to me every time I actually meet celebrants in person.
What's Included?
Where we're staying.
Redcliffe is my adopted home town (since 2003) and has a lot to offer, not the least of which is it's easy access from Brisbane so day trippers can attend the Saturday classes if they don't want to sleep over. The venue is secluded but close to all that the Deadcliffe... I mean Redcliffe waterfront has to offer. If you've not been here in years you'll be pleasantly surprised.
The Cunning Plan
Friday February 28th
Coffee, Content and Cocktails

Arrive from 2pm to settle in and enjoy a brew.
From 4pm, guest presenter Georgina Dawkins will educate and inspire us with fresh ideas for effective social media content.
In the evening, dinner will be a cocktail style reception where we get to know each other.
Saturday March 1st.
Confidence, Clients and Creativity

Workhops begin at 9am and to set us up for the day, guest presenter Jacleen Allen will talk to us about the ever present self-sabotage and how to deal with the negative thoughts about our business when they crop up out of the blue.

Next we'll move onto all things backend: Bookkeeping. workflows, CRM and SEO.

After lunch it's all things ceremony. How to deal with the Monitum so it doesn't stick out like dog's balls. How to get better answers to questionnaires, what to say when they really do tell you nothing and some basic stagecraft/presentation skills.
Sunday March 2nd
Cameraderie, Cockups and Cameras.

After a leisurely start ('cause it's Sunday) where you can choose to check out the famous Redcliffe waterfront markets or some other local sights. We'll begin the official part of the day at 11:00am with a session on Emergency Planning - how to prepare if the worst were to happen.

THEN ... TA DA... we will be joined at lunchtime by photographer and content creator Alyssa Washington. Included in your retreat price will be 3 edited headshots and 1 edited reel, as well as access to all the raw footage taken to play with yourself. Details of an optional upgrade for more of Alyssa's work will be available as an add-on through her directly on the day.

I expect the even to wrap up around 5pm, Leave when you have to, stay as long as you want, but I shan't be cooking for you on Sunday night.

*timetable may be subject to change if guest presenters become unavailable.
